Accessibility Statement

JHM Homes of Honor

Effective Date: 07/09/2026

JHM Homes of Honor is committed to making our website, programs, communications, and community engagement as accessible and usable as reasonably possible for all visitors, including people with disabilities.

We believe access, dignity, respect, and clear communication are important parts of our mission. Our goal is to provide a website experience that allows visitors to learn about our organization, request information, submit forms, make donations, explore volunteer opportunities, review partnership options, and contact us with as few barriers as possible.

1. Our Accessibility Commitment

JHM Homes of Honor strives to provide an accessible website and inclusive communication experience for visitors, donors, volunteers, sponsors, applicants, contractors, vendors, community partners, and members of the public.

We aim to support access for individuals who may use:

  • Screen readers

  • Keyboard navigation

  • Voice recognition tools

  • Magnification tools

  • Alternative input devices

  • Captions or transcripts

  • High contrast settings

  • Mobile devices

  • Assistive technology

  • Plain-language communication support

2. Accessibility Standards We Aim Toward

JHM Homes of Honor aims to improve website accessibility using generally recognized accessibility practices, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, commonly known as WCAG.
Where reasonably possible, we aim to follow principles that help make website content:

  • Perceivable — information can be seen, heard, or otherwise accessed

  • Operable — website features can be used by keyboard, mouse, touch, or assistive tools

  • Understandable — content is clear, consistent, and easy to follow

  • Robust — content works across browsers, devices, and assistive technologies

The U.S. Department of Justice has adopted WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the technical standard for state and local government web and mobile app accessibility under ADA Title II; while that rule is directed to public entities, WCAG 2.1 AA is also commonly used as a practical benchmark by organizations improving website accessibility.

3. Arizona and Federal Accessibility Awareness

JHM Homes of Honor is based in Arizona and seeks to operate in a manner that respects applicable accessibility and nondiscrimination principles.

The Americans with Disabilities Act provides federal protections for individuals with disabilities, and ADA.gov serves as the official federal resource for ADA responsibilities and rights.

Arizona disability rights resources also emphasize access to public accommodations, government offices, mobile apps, and websites for people with disabilities.

This Accessibility Statement is not legal advice and does not guarantee that every part of the website, every third-party platform, or every communication method will always be fully accessible.

4. Website Accessibility Efforts

JHM Homes of Honor will make reasonable efforts to improve website accessibility over time. These efforts may include:

  • Using clear headings and page structure

  • Using readable fonts and sufficient spacing

  • Providing meaningful link labels

  • Adding alternative text to meaningful images

  • Avoiding unnecessary text embedded inside images

  • Using clear form labels and instructions

  • Organizing pages in a logical reading order

  • Keeping navigation simple and consistent

  • Using plain-language explanations where possible

  • Reviewing color contrast when updating designs

  • Avoiding flashing or rapidly moving content

  • Providing accessible contact options

  • Testing pages with built-in accessibility tools when available

  • Updating content when accessibility issues are identified

5. Forms and Online Submissions

JHM Homes of Honor may use online forms for contact requests, support requests, volunteer interest, sponsorship inquiries, contractor/vendor interest, donations, and other communication.

We aim to make forms clear and usable. However, some forms may be hosted, processed, or supported by third-party platforms such as Wix, payment processors, email systems, or other tools.

If you have difficulty completing a form online, please contact us and we will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative way to share the information, such as phone, email, or another practical communication method.

6. Donations and Third-Party Payment Platforms

Online donations may be processed through Wix, payment processors, banks, or other third-party platforms.

JHM Homes of Honor does not fully control the accessibility, design, security, or technical behavior of third-party payment systems.

However, if you experience difficulty making a donation online, please contact us so we can review the concern and, where appropriate, provide an alternative method or guidance.

7. Third-Party Content and Links

Our website may contain third-party content, tools, plugins, embedded media, maps, forms, donation tools, social media feeds, calendars, videos, or links to outside websites.

JHM Homes of Honor may not control the accessibility of third-party platforms or external websites. Third-party providers are responsible for their own accessibility practices, content, and technology.

If you encounter an accessibility issue with a third-party feature connected to our website, please let us know and we will make reasonable efforts to identify the issue or provide an alternative where practical.

8. Images, Videos, and Media

JHM Homes of Honor may use images, videos, project updates, sponsor recognition, volunteer highlights, and community stories to communicate our mission and impact.

We aim to make media more accessible by:

  • Adding meaningful alternative text to important images

  • Avoiding essential information that appears only in images

  • Using captions or transcripts when practical for videos

  • Keeping visual content respectful and easy to understand

  • Providing written descriptions when needed

  • Avoiding overly busy or confusing design layouts

9. Documents and Downloads

Our website may include PDF files, downloadable documents, applications, policies, forms, flyers, sponsorship materials, or other resources.

Some documents may not be fully accessible at the time they are uploaded. JHM Homes of Honor will make reasonable efforts to improve document accessibility over time.

If you need a document in a more accessible format, please contact us and identify the document you need. We will make reasonable efforts to provide the information in an alternative format when practical.

10. Communication Accommodations

JHM Homes of Honor understands that people may communicate in different ways.

Upon request, and when reasonably possible, we may provide or consider alternative communication methods, such as:

  • Phone communication

  • Email communication

  • Text-based communication

  • Larger-print materials

  • Plain-language summaries

  • Alternative document formats

  • Assistance reading or understanding forms

  • A different way to submit required information

Requests will be reviewed based on the nature of the request, available resources, timing, technology, staffing, and organizational capacity.

11. Physical Project Sites and Events

JHM Homes of Honor may coordinate volunteer activities, project site visits, community events, sponsor activities, or outreach opportunities.

Physical locations may vary and may include private homes, outdoor areas, community locations, partner sites, or temporary event spaces. Accessibility at these locations may depend on the property, venue, project type, safety conditions, weather, parking, pathways, restrooms, and available accommodations.

JHM Homes of Honor will make reasonable efforts to consider accessibility when planning events or activities, but not every location may be fully accessible.

If you plan to attend an event, volunteer activity, project visit, or meeting and need an accessibility accommodation, please contact us in advance so we can review what may be possible.

12. No Guarantee of Immediate Accommodation

JHM Homes of Honor will make reasonable efforts to respond to accessibility requests. However, submitting an accessibility request does not guarantee that every requested accommodation can be provided, especially if the request is not feasible, creates a safety concern, requires resources unavailable to the organization, depends on a third party, or cannot be arranged within the available time.

We encourage visitors to contact us as early as possible with accessibility needs.

13. Ongoing Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing process. JHM Homes of Honor expects to improve its website, forms, documents, communications, and digital practices over time as the organization grows.

Because the website may be updated, expanded, or supported by third-party tools, accessibility issues may occasionally arise. We appreciate feedback that helps us identify and correct barriers.

14. How to Report an Accessibility Issue

If you experience difficulty accessing any part of the JHM Homes of Honor website, using a form, reading a document, making a donation, viewing content, or contacting us, please let us know.

When contacting us, please include:

  • The page or feature where the issue occurred

  • A brief description of the problem
